Thats my nick name for Earl these days.
Firstly – his Hebrew name is Isser Melech. Isser is the diminutive of Yisrael and Melech means king. Of course Rex means king in Latin – but thats not why I call him that.
Ive always joked with Earl that he is anorexic. Although he eats a lot , he is beyond disciplined, and anything passes his lips that is unaccounted. He eats the same food every single day of his life. Only on Shabbat does he allow himself to enjoy whatever he wants, and eat as much as he wants.
I recently discovered a term of his behaviours.
“Orthorexia is the term for a condition that includes symptoms of obsessive behavior in pursuit of a healthy diet. Orthorexia sufferers often display signs and symptoms of anxiety disorders that frequently co-occur with anorexia nervosa or other eating disorders.” Hence the name Rex.
And now he is rubbing off on me. Or forcing his behaviour on me. The other day he packed lunch for us. Grapes and cottage cheese. At about 1pm I was starving – So I said I wanted my lunch. H pulled out the container of grapes.
“Is that for me?”
“This is for both of us – it’s ok – I only ned 6 or 7 grapes.” That’s lunch….
Here’s a pic. Proof. This was not eaten. That was the portion for my 6’4″ husband who runs 6kms at midday in 40 degree heat.
So now I’m running in 40 degree heat. Its good. Hopefully i’ll keep it up. Hey who knows – maybe i’ll become Regina.
🙂 enjoy your run and make sure to eat some more!
Mommies like you (and me) use a lot of calories takingn care of our precious kids – and the Rex we have to deal with too.
So make sure you get more good nutritious calories in your system.
The family we care for needs us to be well fed 🙂
Have a beautiful run in the holy land !!!!
Xoxoxo
